Description

The Belotti GALAXY Series features high-speed 5-axis CNC machining centers, which are particularly suitable for milling aluminum, composite materials, and resins.

This Series represents Belotti’s answer to the production requirements of leading companies in the aerospace and automotive industries, as well as major model makers and composite part manufacturers.

Belotti GALAXY machining centers are equipped with a suspended bridge structure made of heavy-gauge welded steel. The structure undergoes heat treatment and is driven on both sides, a design solution developed to ensure exceptional structural rigidity, stability, and machining accuracy, even when processing large-scale components.

The Y, Z, A, and C axes are mounted on the bridge structure and move along elevated guideways on the longitudinal X-axis, supported by columns featuring double guides on each side. This configuration keeps the entire mechanical system above the working area, leaving the worktable completely unobstructed and ensuring excellent accessibility and maximum flexibility in component handling.

Slide movements are driven by brushless motors and precision gear systems that activate high-precision hardened and ground helical rack-and-pinion drives on the X and Y axes. The stroke system incorporates large-section, high-precision linear guides and preloaded roller bearing slides.

The Z-axis is driven by a recirculating ball screw and equipped with a balancing system, an integrated brake motor, and external safety brakes designed to stop axis movement in the event of a voltage drop.

The machine configuration also enables components to be loaded via overhead crane, thanks to the distinctive arrangement of the guideways, which keeps the work area fully accessible and simplifies loading and unloading operations.

Accessories

Fork head up to 50kW

5-axis working head with Belotti patent for maximum high precision during machining. This model is equipped with electrospindle with power up to 50kW allowing tool tilting and orientation in all directions. It is equipped with a scale inductive type measurement system to ensure high dynamic performance and accuracy.
Furthermore, the head is equipped with a hydraulic rotary axis clamping system, enabling greater machining rigidity when interpolation is not required.

Total enclosure with moving roof

The total enclosure, made with sound-absorbing panels, is designed to ensure the machine compliance to the European noise regulations for machining centers.
The automatic upper doors feature an opening suitable for overhead crane insertion of machining components, while the manual lower doors have a wide opening allowing them to be loaded in conjunction with machine strokes.

Upper rolling shutter

The motorized rolling shutter limits chip ejection from the work environment, facilitating opening/closing operations and workpiece loading via overhead crane.
The artificially lit work environment is also well-visible thanks to the special translucent fabric of the shutter.

Cooling liquid system with chip conveyor

Cooling liquid system equipped with a chip conveyor, a liquid collection tank with mechanical fabric filter purifier, and high- and low-pressure pumps.

Vision cameras

Vision cameras in the spindle housing for work cycle verification and monitoring during unattended machining.
